Coastal Conference

Here I am with Claudia Toutain-Dorbec and Tina Sicilia having fun at the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild annual conference. K.C.'s Innsitting Service is a vendor member of the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild . However, I usually do not get to attend the conference because I am usually working somewhere. This year the conference was held at the coast and I happened to be working at the coast.

So, even though I was working, I was able to attend the dinner. It was great fun to get to see old friends and clients as well as network with B&B owners who might not be aware of my service - maybe create new clients, who knows?

Because the conference was at the coast, the dinner was a lavish seafood buffet. I admit I had two of these shrimp coctails [hey, no calories in those things, right?]

After dinner there was a drawing for prizes and of course I did not win anything. But I did have a lot of fun and I was happy that for once I got to attend at least part of the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild annual conference.

What is your favorite conference spot?
   The Oregon Coast, right?

All that Jazz!

One of the things Kirk and I like to do when we travel as Professional Innsitters or just as tourists is seek out live music. We like many types of music but Jazz is not one of our favorites. However this month we got to experience the Seaside Jazz Festival  and it was really a great experience!

We were able to listen to all sorts of music: Dixeland, Swing, Piano, and even a 50's style doo-wop band. I guess Jazz is a broader term than I thought. We both really enjoyed most of the music we heard.

The bands come from all over the country as do the patrons. Of course most of the other festival goers knew much more about jazz then we did. We just enjoyed listening and dancing.

Yup, our deep dark secret is that Kirk and I like to dance. But we were really out of our league here. Many of these couples could really "cut a rug". Many of them also wore costumes: flapper, jitterbug etc... Anyhow it was fun to watch and we learned a few new moves.

So if you like Jazz or even if you don't, you should go to the Seaside Jaz Festival. It's fun!
